Build your own quantum computer!

25th May 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Tomorrow night at the Hackspace, we will be hosting a fun educational event about quantum computers.

There will be a talk element and a hands-on element, simulating the ways qubits work together, and this talk is a trial run for the same thing being run for the public at a festival next month.

The creators of these devices are real grassroots users of the hackspace who came in one day with an idea, were helped along, and came out the other end with a wonderful device. So come along and enjoy, give them a hard time about the science elements, and all feedback is very welcome. 🙂

Here is the event description:

BUILD YOUR OWN QUANTUM COMPUTER!

Join the Qubit Zone team from the University of Oxford for a 90-minute workshop where you will learn about the incredible world of quantum computers. The team will introduce you to mysterious quantum phenomena – including qubits, superposition and entanglement – and then let you loose with your own quantum circuitry to try it out for yourself, with special hardware built right here at the Hackspace.

Hope to see you there!
