Designing for 3D Printing: Meet #1

This is a brand new design-focussed meet that we’re considering running every fortnight during Oxhack social night, to discuss tools, best practice techniques and other wonderful things in the world of design and 3D printers.

Nothing too official, just a relaxed meet for interested people with previous design knowledge or not to get discussing and 3D printing some interesting specimens.

Depending who turns up in a given week, there may be opportunities to learn about CAD for 3D printing, how to measure up real-world objects for putting into the computer (with the tools to do it), tricks for manipulating, finishing, and fitting objects we print, discussion of design principles for best strength and success, Q&A, fancy materials, and wide-ranging experimentation of all kinds.
